Loveland Colorado-A Place For Free Family Fun

As a parent myself, I understand how much of a strain it can be to afford entertainment for your children during the summer months. Camps, Dance, and Little League can get costly once you start paying for more than one child-let alone the gas and time you spend shuttling your love bugs around everywhere!

Well, if you are looking for some great, FREE, family friendly activities that your entire family can enjoy together, then you don’t have to look much further than Loveland, Colorado!

The town of Loveland, located right outside of Ft. Collins, Colorado, is a throwback to old times with its amazing architecture that is more art than structure, cozy buildings, thrift stores, shops, and old fashioned fun.

And did I mention your family can enjoy the best of Loveland for free? That is why I love living here, there is so much to do with my children that I don’t have to worry about a budget for summer entertainment and my wife and I don’t have to spend half our time crossing paths as we take one kid here and another there.

So what can you do in Loveland?

For sure you must visit the Funky Monkey-a crazy great thrift store with all kinds of eclectic items that young tween and teen children will love digging through and looking at.  And most of the items are priced around a dollar or less, which is really great for the family budget.

Also on the to do list? The Loveland Museum and Gallery. Kids of all ages (and adults!) will enjoy the great collection of art and artifacts. About twice a year local artists are able to display some of their own work in one of the Museum’s changing displays, so if there is an aspiring artist in the family, you can ask at the Museum front desk for more information on how to get your art on display. In one part of the Museum you will find the history of Loveland and the development of Loveland real estate in a remake of how Loveland looked in the 1800′s. The history is fun to learn and seeing how the town looked over a hundred years ago is pretty amazing-esp for our children who are so used to Facebook, the Internet and drive thru pizza places!

Another must see in Loveland is the Lincoln Art Gallery, who also hosts the annual “Art In The Park” every August.  The annual art show, held in Loveland, displays the works of the winners every summer and anyone of any age can enter for prizes, money, and of course, the honor of having their art on display at the Lincoln Art Gallery.

Loveland also has an amazing park, with tons of out door area and activities for all ages, from jogging trails and walking trails to basketball areas and swing sets, your whole family can enjoy an afternoon playing and then picnic in the covered picnic areas.

Federal $8000 Housing Tax Credit Explained For Northern Colorado Real Estate

There is a lot of information out there about the $8000 First Time Home Buyers Tax Credit that any Loveland Area Frist Time Home Buyers can take advantage of using. But sometimes, a video can be worth more than 1000 words.  Here is a great explanation of the major points of the tax credit,  from the Chief Tax Economist from the National Association of Home Builders:

Recently, Bridge Loans made it possible to use some of the tax credit towards the cost of the home, such as for closing costs, as additional down payment, or as part of the mortgage interest rate buydown cost, rather than waiting for the full refund to come later. Be wary of people claiming they can  help you get the money quickly though-it is best to consult your Lender and tax professional.

So what does this mean for Loveland Home Buyers? It means that if you qualify for a home, and the time is right for you to buy a home, this tax credit can make it that much more affordable.
