Hearing the name Andy Warhol conjures up images of brightly colored Marylin Monroe portraits, but did you know some of the lesser know facts about Andy Warhol include his role as band manger for the 1960’s rock group, The Velvet Underground? Or how about the fact that he took almost 150,000 photos in the years from 1976 to 1986-and there were not digital cameras then, either folks! Just imagine the rolls of film he had around his house at all times!

Thanks for the University Art Center at Colorado State University-a short walk or quick drive for all of us living in the Fort Collins area and Loveland area-we can all enjoy an up close and personal look at the artist and the man of Andy Warhol!

The exhibit, titled “Through Warhol’s Lens” features original Warhol prints and Polaroids in the CSU Large Gallery and “Warhol’s Flowers” in the Intimate Gallery.

The exhibit will be on display from 11am to 7pm Tuesday through Saturday from now until Sept. 25th at the University Center for the Arts, 1400 Remington Street, in Fort Collins. The best part? It’s free!
